Handheld radios for the vehicle GM340: vehicle-to-person radio in the field

The vehicle-mounted station maintains communication between the machines and the base. But people come out of the cabin: to unload, to inspect the track, to the drilling room. They need a handheld two-way radio that speaks to the machine on the same channel. We understand how to assemble such a bundle and what usually goes wrong in it.

One band and one channel

The handheld and vehicle-mounted stations must operate in the same range – VHF 136–174 MHz or UHF 403–470 MHz – and be programmed for the same channels. For the vehicle-mounted GM340 pair usually take handheld Motorola GP340 same range. If there are already stations in the park, send their model and frequencies - we program new ones under the existing grid.

Why can a car be heard farther than a person?

Vehicle-mounted station transmits up to 25 W through an external antenna on the roof. handheld - a few watts through a short antenna at the belt. So the person in the field hears the machine farther than the machine hears it. This is useful to know in advance: if the driver hears “scraps”, the person should rise higher or come closer, rather than shouting into the microphone.

If groups diverge over long distances, the connection is stretched. repeater at a high point.

Charging handheld on the road

Winter: Handheld battery kept warm

In the cold, the capacity of the battery of the handheld station temporarily falls, and it is impossible to charge the frozen battery - it is first heated in the cabin. The spare battery is carried in an inner pocket or in a warm cabin, not in the back.

How to negotiate a communication procedure

The bundle works when everyone has the same rules: which channel is working, which is to call the base, who and how often gets in touch when leaving the car. A simple canal table in the cabin saves more time than the most expensive station.

What to send on order

How many cars and how many people get out of the cabin, the range and models of the two-way radio, the distances the groups diverge. Select vehicle-mounted, handheld and repeater in one set - a letter to the office@apocalypsemoto340.ru.

Getting out of the car: a short inspection and a separate working group

For a service column in the Surgut area, an employee who briefly leaves the cabin is distinguished from a brigade working separately from transport. In the first case, the interaction with a particular machine is described; in the second, all work stations, dispatchers and intended areas of work are described. The number of handheld stations is counted by people’s tasks, not the number of cars.

For the repair team at the Obi onshore base, the procedure for issuing batteries and charging places after the shift are added to the statement. If the fleet already has a GP340 and a vehicle-mounted GM, the stored vehicles are listed with the configuration designation and existing configuration. Joint work is agreed for the actual park. The geography of the route helps to describe the task, but does not confirm the communication range of a particular set.
