Temperature tolerances on the NAVIOM AV-110: keeping conditions with each parameter

NAVIOM AV-110
NAVIOM AV-110

The NAVIOM AV-110 technical sheet places temperatures alongside several transmitter parameters. These qualifications matter: the same nominal value may have different tolerances over different intervals. Retain complete lines when selecting equipment. Otherwise, a precise specification becomes an overly broad promise. This review addresses the conditions attached to the figures, keeping power, frequency stability and installation requirements separate.

The 9 W carrier rating has two tolerance intervals

Between +15 and +35 °C, the 9 W carrier rating has a tolerance of ±1.5 dB. Between −20 and +55 °C, the sheet specifies +1.5/−3 dB. A comparison therefore needs the temperature and tolerance alongside nominal power. These lines describe one parameter under different conditions; they are not names for two user-selected modes. Keeping the conditions is especially useful when offers are compared in a short specification table.

PEP does not replace carrier power

AV-110 peak envelope power is specified as 36 W PEP. Retain it separately instead of rewriting carrier power as 36 W. Identical units do not make the parameters interchangeable. In an enquiry, state both values and ask that their meanings be retained in the offer. Neither number produces a guaranteed range: the short material provides no reliable operating distance, while the antenna system and site conditions need separate consideration.

Frequency stability also needs context

The general specifications list stability of ±5 ppm. The transmitter section separately specifies instability of ±1 ppm between 0 and +40 °C. Do not silently reduce these statements to one preferred figure: they appear in different source lines with different qualifications. For technical agreement, retain both formulations and ask about the required scenario rather than applying the stricter figure to every operating condition.

State placement requirements separately

The temperature conditions attached to output power do not replace a full description of enclosure protection. The supplied sheet gives no IP rating, explosion protection, weight or dimensions. Established installation parameters are 12 or 24 V DC, a maximum of 31.5 V, a 50-ohm antenna path and an SO-239 socket. State actual operating-position conditions and required documents. This allows the application to be agreed without expanding a short specification through assumptions about every climatic influence.

Questions and answers

Is 36 W the carrier rating?

No. 36 W isPEP; carrier power is 9 W with stated temperature tolerances.

Do the power temperatures establish every enclosure operating condition?

No. They qualify one parameter. Other construction requirements need separate clarification.
